If a claim is made against you then call us. We want to help in any way we can.

In the event of any query or potential complaint/claim

Immediately contact the 24-hour Medico Legal helpline detailed in your policy pack. If you haven’t got this to hand then please contact us and we will be able to provide it. The phone line is manned by a law firm experienced in clinical negligence, providing sound legal and clinical advice for any situations arising.

The Medico Legal helpline will act as your initial point of reference. They will capture all details relating to the claim and answer any questions that you may have. Once all of the relevant information has been gathered, this is then passed onto your insurer and their dedicated claims team. The insurer’s claims team, along with solicitors specialising in the relevant area of clinical negligence, will then work with you to defend your claim.

If you do have a claim made against you then we do ask that you let us know as soon as possible.

Whether it’s answering questions about how these processes typically work or chasing up insurers, we want to help. In the majority of cases we won’t be needed, but we always like to know what’s going on so we can make sure you’re receiving the best service and support.
